Ms Sonali Mohapatra, Junior Research Fellow at the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) Prof Brien Holden Eye Research Centre (BHERC), recently won the Best Logo Award in the TEAR Precision Logo Competition, organized by TEAR Precision on July 15, 2026.

The logo for TEAR Precision is in itself a statement. The central element is a drop of tear crowned by an upward arrow, symbolizing progressive yet ongoing breakthrough research in tear fluids. Within the drop, I have tried to represent the molecular-level research going on. The cradling hand with circuitry lines in it not only represents care, support, and a human-centric approach but also highlights the integration of AI and modern technologies. The central design is further surrounded by a connected circle, visually signifying the role of global collaboration towards the core mission of establishing the link to precision medicine and sophisticated, reliable diagnostics. Finally, the use of cool blue tones that represent the brand’s identity as trustworthy and soothing. May every drop of tear turn into a personalized cure and, hence, a happy one.
