OneSight is an independent non-profit whose founding global sponsor is Luxottica Group – an independent non-profit body working to eradicate the vision care crisis. OneSight’s association with LVPEI started in the year 2014, which resulted in capital support for the establishment of 28 Vision Centres in the underserved areas of Guntur, Nellore and Chittoor Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, they have supported the training program for Vision Technicians and an Optical Dispensing lab for LVPEI’s Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry.
Their contribution has powered LVPEI’s initiative of reaching out to the masses at the root level in rural areas. With these 28 Vision Centres, the Institute has served to the primary eye care needs of over 1.4 million population that has acted as a significant pedestal to refer patients to the most appropriate level of treatment. Their support has also resulted in developing the vocational opportunity for the local youth in these areas.
