The Standard Chartered - LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education celebrated its 7th Education Day on 12th December 2020. The virtual celebrations had Ms Karuna Bhatia, Standard Chartered Bank - Head of Sustainability – India & SA, as the Chief Guest and Prof D Balasubramanian, Distinguished Scientist and Director Emeritus, Prof. Brien Holden Eye Research Centre, LVPEI, as the Guest of Honour. Graduation certificates were awarded to 218 trainees comprising Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Vision Technicians and Ophthalmic Nurse Assistants.
On this occasion, true to LVPEI's motto 'so that all may see', a first-of-its-kind education program - EyeHEP, converging all eye health professionals, was organized. It was a week-long learning and knowledge sharing process aimed to provide scientific evidence through a range of well-crafted education programs that benefited over 800 trainees and eyecare professionals.
