A team of 10 LVPEI faculty members conducted a two-day skills-transfer course at the XIV international congress of the Middle East and Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO). It had hands-on wet lab sessions on corneal transplantations and corneal suturing, tissue-adhesive application and glaucoma implant surgery, and a video-assisted surgical training course for strabismus surgery. Additionally, an LVPEI symposium was held which included sessions on glaucoma diagnostics and clinical and surgical pearls in various specialities: cornea, glaucoma, retina, squint, neuro-ophthalmology and uveitis. The congress was held from 5-8 September 2019 at Amman in Jordan and was supported by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).
