Dr Pravin Vaddavalli Selected as the Paul Dubord Chair of Cornea

Dr Pravin Vaddavalli has been selected as the Paul Dubord Chair of Cornea at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), effective 1 November 2026. The selection recognises his commitment and contributions over the years.

The Chair was established in 2012 in honor of Dr Paul J Dubord, a distinguished ophthalmologist and cornea specialist based in Vancouver, Canada. Dr Dubord was a great supporter of LVPEI and for nearly three decades, made the journey to Hyderabad almost every single year. Through Eyesight International, Canada (ESI), the organisation he founded, Dr Dubord supported LVPEI’s eye bank and cornea education programs. He was deeply committed to strengthening eye banking and cornea care in India and the Asia Pacific region.

The title is particularly fitting as Dr Vaddavalli leads the Universal Cornea Care Mission. The appointment is also a tribute to Dr Dubord’s vision and legacy.
