Network wide programs were organized to celebrate International Nurses’ Day on May 12, 2026. The day was marked by heartfelt celebrations and special programs honoring the dedication, compassion and invaluable contribution of nurses in patient care. The celebrations reflected the International Nurses’ Day theme for the year 2026, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives”.
The LVPEI Kallam Anji Reddy (KAR) Campus in Hyderabad celebrated International Nurses’ Day with gratitude, recognizing the dedication and service of the Network’s nursing team. The gathering was addressed by Dr Rajeev K Reddy, Vice-Chair at LVPEI KAR, who appreciated the nursing staff for their dedicated service, while Dr Merle Fernandes, Campus Head, LVPEI KAR, highlighted the importance of compassionate patient care in nursing practices. Encouraging words were also shared by Dr Subhadra Jalali, Network Director (Quality) at LVPEI, Dr Archana Bhargava, Head, Internal Medicine Department, LVPEI KAR and Dr Tarjani Dave, Associate Director, LVPEI KAR. The event concluded with cultural programs and audio-visual presentations, appreciating the vital role nurses play within the network.

At the Rajasekhara Reddy (RSR) Campus in Kadapa, the celebrations, organized by the senior nurse, Saritha, began with the Nurses’ Pledge and included speeches, cultural activities, interactive sessions and a cake-cutting ceremony.

The Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC) Campus in Bhubaneswar marked the day with a special program featuring inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and appreciation for the tireless efforts of nurses in supporting patients and communities. In addition to the cultural programs, the MTC Campus in Bhubaneswar also organized a Blood Donation Camp, in collaboration with the Central Red Cross Blood Centre, Cuttack. The initiative received an enthusiastic response from the staff, students and volunteers, resulting in the collection of 63 units of blood. It is a testament to LVPEI’s spirit of teamwork and social responsibility.

In casual conversation with some of our nurses at the Quaternary Care Institute (KAR Campus, Hyderabad), we asked them some fun questions about their lives as healthcare workers…they didn’t hold back! Watch snippets, here.
