Oculoplasty and Facial Aesthetics PR - Kadapa

Kadapa, December 22, 2025: Oculoplasty is a specialized field within ophthalmology that addresses disorders of the eyelids, tear drainage system, orbit, and the surrounding facial structures, areas where vision, function, and appearance are closely interconnected. Unlike general cosmetic procedures, Oculoplasty requires an in-depth understanding of ocular anatomy and visual physiology.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in patients seeking consultation for drooping eyelids, watering eyes, periocular ageing, and changes around the eyes that affect both daily comfort and self-confidence. Many of these concerns are not merely cosmetic, they often interfere with vision, eye surface health, and normal blinking.

'The eye region is unforgiving. Even a small error can affect vision or facial balance. That is why aesthetic procedures around the eyes must always be planned with eye safety and function as the first priority.', says Dr Kavya Bejanki, Campus head and Consultant Oculoplastic surgeon at the Rajasekara Reddy Campus, Kadapa.

Oculoplastic surgery includes reconstructive procedures for ptosis, eyelid malpositions, lacrimal disorders, orbital diseases, trauma, and tumors. Alongside this, conservative aesthetic interventions such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers are used to address early signs of ageing around the eyes. These treatments are carefully tailored to preserve natural expression rather than alter it.

What sets oculoplasty apart is the emphasis on restraint and appropriate selection of the patient. When interventions are performed, they are aimed at achieving subtle improvement while maintaining normal eyelid function and ocular comfort. Oculoplasty and aesthetics together offer a comprehensive approach that respects both appearance and eye health.

Experts advise patients to seek care from trained oculoplastic surgeons for any procedure involving the eyelids or periocular region, as this ensures ethical decision-making, anatomical precision, and the highest standards of patient safety.
