Shobha Mocherla

Dr Shobha Mocherla has been in service of the mission of L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) for over three decades now, starting with medical, surgical and multilingual patient education video film production in the Central Audio-Visual Unit (CAVU). In 2013, Shobha earned a PhD doctoral degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, for researching patient perceptions of doctor-patient communication in the glaucoma clinic.

With millennial colleagues spearheading new technology, Shobha gradually diversified into proofreading text of formal printed and AV narration scripts in the Communications department. Later, she seized opportunities to lead classroom training jointly conducted by Human Resources department and Patient Care Counselling department for onboarding entry-level staff in patient care front desk counselling.

At present, Shobha is facilitating text and video content, along with being the point of contact for summer internships, based at the Standard Chartered – LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education. Contributing with her vast experience to young people’s careers gives her great joy, she says.
