Dr Akash Belenje

Akash Belenje did his MBBS from K. S. Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore, Karnataka, followed by post-graduation, MS Ophthalmology from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Medical College, Dharwad, Karnataka. He then pursued a fellowship in Surgical Retina and Vitreous from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He has presented papers and posters at Karnataka and Telangana State Conferences, Vitreo-Retina Society of India annual conference, and World Conference on Retinopathy of Prematurity. His areas of interest are Paediatric Retinal Diseases, Endophthalmitis and Diabetic Retinopathy. He has published extensively on paediatric retinal diseases, particularly Retinopathy of Prematurity. He received the P Ramachander competitive free paper award at the Telangana Ophthalmological Society 2022 annual meeting. This was for his work on COVID safety guidelines and risk stratification in managing Retinopathy of Prematurity. He is also one of the members of the editorial board of the Telangana Ophthalmological Society.
