Dr Khushboo Chauhan completed her MBBS from the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (IPGME&R), Kolkata; and subsequently served as a medical officer in emergency medicine. She pursued her postgraduate training (MD Ophthalmology) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal; and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations. Dr. Chauhan further did her long-term vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.
A dedicated academician, at the time of this writing, Dr. Chauhan has authored 19 peer-reviewed publications, in high-impact journals such as Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, Survey of Ophthalmology, The Lancet, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, and The Lancet Oncology. She was conferred upon with the prestigious Prof. Krothapalli Ravindranath LVPEI Research Excellence Award and has served as the Chief Clinical Research Fellow at LVPEI. She has also received several travel grants to present her research at international platforms, with presentations at international and national academic conferences.
Her current research interests focus on vitreoretinal diseases, especially the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) biomarkers and evaluation of surgical outcomes in complex retinal pathologies.
Dr Chauhan has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning multiple scholarships and national accolades for her scholastic and extracurricular achievements. She is a life member of All India Ophthalmological Society, Uveitis Society of India, Vitreo-Retinal Society of India and EURETINA (Young Retina Specialists). Her surgical expertise lies in vitreoretinal diseases(complex retinal detachments, macular hole, diabetic vitrectomy and endophthalmitis).
She is a national-level awardee in art, writing and talent competitions. When not immersed in retinal surgery and research, she enjoys travelling, listening to music, and nurturing her spiritual side.
