Laxmi Prabhavathi Savla completed her medical degree from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada and her residency from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. She has later done a 2 year fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Diseases from Mithu Tulsi Chanrai Campus, L V Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar. She has a keen interest in pediatric retinal disorders and retinal dystrophies, and has been actively involved in research related to her interest area.
