Smruti Rekha Priyadarshini completed her basic medical education from S .C .B Medical College, Utkal University, Odisha. She pursued her MS in Ophthalmology (2006-2009) from M.K.C.G Medical College, Berhampur Unniversity, Odisha. This was followed by a fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai , Tamil Nadu before joining the Cornea and Anterior Segment Services at LVPEI, Bhubaneswar.
