Dr Sushma Tulava completed her postgraduate training in ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, followed by a long-term fellowship in glaucoma at LVPEI in Hyderabad.
She has a keen interest in research and academics. Her areas of interest include refractory glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and childhood glaucoma, with a strong emphasis on advancing diagnostic techniques, optimizing treatment strategies, and enhancing long-term patient outcomes.
Dr Tulava has presented her research at several national and international conferences. She is a lifetime member of the All India Ophthalmic Society (AIOS) and the Glaucoma Society of India (GSI).
