Dr Taraprasad Das, Vice Chairman Emeritus - LVPEI was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at AIOC 2026, the 84th Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmological Society, organized at Jaipur during March 12-15, 2026.
Dr Das was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of ophthalmology. The award was a recognition of Dr Das's years of excellence in clinical practice, academic leadership, and for mentoring many present and future leaders in Ophthalmology. Dr Das has over the years lead several national and international ophthalmological Societies including - All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), Vitreo Retinal Society of India (VRSI), The Indian Journal of Ophthalmology (IJO) and the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), USA.
Dr Das is a recipient of the Padma Shri (the highest civilian honor by the Government of India) in 2013.
