LVPEI at ARVO Annual Meet 2026

Researchers, clinicians and doctors from L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) participated in the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting 2026, held in Denver, Colorado, USA. This year, ARVO saw a total of 35 participants from LVPEI, presenting scientific papers and posters across diverse areas of vision and ophthalmic research.

Key Highlights & Global Recognitions

Our faculty and research scholars earned several prestigious awards, travel grants, and designations for their scientific contributions:

Hot Topic Poster Selection: Dr Aravind Roy received Hot Topic Poster recognition for his poster titled, ‘Effect of photodynamic therapies and collagen crosslinking on corneal biomechanical anisotropy’.

Fellow of ARVO (FARVO): Dr Shrikant Bharadwaj was honored with the prestigious FARVO designation for his paper titled, ‘Blur-driven accommodation is impaired in keratoconus and not restored by wavefront aberration correction’.

ARVO India Chapter Affiliate Travel Grant: Earned by Ms Preetirupa Devi (One-eyed individuals may utilize monocular depth cues for perception but not for visuomotoractions involving depth judgments)

Additionally, Ms Sreyasi Maiti (Senescence Induced Immune Dysregulation as a Therapeutic Target in Bacterial Endophthalmitis), Mr Mahialahmad Dar (Development of a 3D Corneoscleral contact lens Construct derived from Amniotic membrane extracellular matrix for ocular surface healing and Non-Invasive Corneal Regeneration), and Ms Agimanailiu Khapuinamai (Cyclosporin A Attenuates Inflammation and Improves Outcomes in Fungal Endophthalmitis) attended ARVO 2026 on the basis of ARVO Foundation Travel Grants awarded to them last year.

Meanwhile, Dr Priyanka Maniarasu (Temporal Dynamics of Microsaccade Inhibition in Glaucoma During Pro- and Antisaccade Tasks), Ms Sruthi Chamarty (Do early-onset high myopes show altered air-puff induced whole eye movement?), and Ms Monika Thakur (Gaze reaction time in infants with congenital cataract) attended ARVO 2026 on the basis of their ARVO Developing Country Eye Researcher Travel Fellowship (DCERF) Awards received last year.

National Travel Honors: Ms Srijita Kundu was awarded both the Ekalavya Ignite Travel Grant and CSIR Travel Grant to attend ARVO 2026 for her research titled, ‘Determination of cell death pathways in response to Rhizopus infections in patient-derived human sino-nasal epithelial cells in vitro’.
