As part of the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Residency Program, LVPEI conducted three preceptorships in May 2026 involving residents from local and neighboring district medical colleges.

Strabismus Preceptorship  [1] at the LVPEI GMR Varalakshmi Campus (GMRV) Campus, Visakhapatnam: The program covered foundational concepts in strabismus, differentiation of paralytic and restrictive strabismus, and basic surgical techniques. Participants also received hands-on training using surgical models. The session was attended by 20 participants, including in-house fellows.

Retina Preceptorship  [2] at the LVPEI GMRV Campus, Visakhapatnam: The programme was attended by 22 participants, including in-house fellows, and focused on enhancing clinical knowledge and skills in retina care.

Cornea Preceptorship  [3] at the LVPEI Kode Venkatadri Chowdary (KVC) Campus, Vijayawada: The program covered the management of corneal emergencies, including trauma, chemical injuries and microbial keratitis, along with the fundamentals of corneal transplantation. Participants attended lectures, microbiology slide demonstrations, corneal suturing practice sessions and demonstrations of lamellar surgical procedures, including Descemet’s membrane peeling. A total of 35 participants attended the session.
