Maanaveeya Development and Finance Pvt Ltd Supports Solar Power Generation at L V Prasad Eye Institute, GMR Varalakshmi campus, Visakhapatnam

Published 21st July 2026

Visakhapatnam, July 10, 2026: The combined impact of burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and rapid industrialization has led to increased greenhouse gas emissions and the depletion of Earth’s natural ecosystems, posing a significant threat to human health and well-being.

L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), as part of its Green LVPEI initiative, has taken a pledge to adopt environmentally sustainable practices. A key focus of this initiative is the transition from fossil fuel–based energy systems to renewable energy sources such as solar energy.

LVPEI is deeply grateful for its association with Maanaveeya Development & Finance Private Limited in implementing their high-impact CSR initiative, since 2020. The partnership has strengthened over the years, with Maanaveeya supporting LVPEI’s Green Initiative through CSR grants for the installation of solar rooftop systems across several LVPEI campuses.

We are pleased to announce the inauguration of a newly installed 75 kW rooftop solar power system at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), GMR Varalakshmi Campus, Visakhapatnam with the CSR support extended by M/s Manaveeya Pvt Ltd.

With this addition, Maanaveeya has supported a total of seven green initiatives across different campuses of LVPEI, bringing the cumulative solar capacity supported by Manaveeya to 363 kW.

One of the most significant outcomes of this partnership is the measurable financial and environmental impact. The solar installations are helping LVPEI with solar energy to the tune of 4.5 Lakh units annually. The savings from the energy costs have directly contributed to enabling additional eye surgeries each year to patients who cannot afford the costs.

Environmentally, the solar projects reduce approximately 360 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, which is equivalent to planting around 14,000 fully grown trees every year.

Maanaveeya’s forward-thinking CSR approach has created more than seven times greater social impact for low-income communities, setting a benchmark in sustainable development partnerships.

Dr. Prashant Garg, Chairman, LVPEI, expressed sincere gratitude for this meaningful collaboration with Maanaveeya, which has strengthened LVPEI’s environmental sustainability and Green initiatives, enabling the Institute to serve society without compromising the environment.

Dr.  Gouri Sankar, MD, Maanaveeya Development & Finance Pvt. Ltd., during the inauguration said: “As a responsible member of society, Maanaveeya continues to view CSR not merely as a legal obligation but as a moral responsibility—empowering low-income communities, improving livelihoods, and contributing to environmental sustainability for long-term development.”
