Satyashree Gagan receives VESICON Travel Grant

Published 19th October 2026

Satyashree Gagan, Research Scientist at the Jhaveri Microbiology Centre, L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), received the VESICON Travel Grant for her ‘Flash Talk’ presentation on multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa endophthalmitis, a serious eye infection that can threaten vision.

Her work, titled ‘Temporal Extracellular Vesicle Transcriptomics Reveals NLRP3-Driven Inflammatory Signatures in Multidrug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa Endophthalmitis,’ explores how inflammatory signals change during the infection.

Satyashree’s study aims to identify potential markers that could help researchers understand the infection better and explore new treatment options. She is mentored by Dr Joveeta Joseph, the Dr Savitri Sharma Chair of Ocular Microbiology, and Head of Microbiology Services across the L V Prasad Eye Institute Network.

VESICON 2026, the second annual conference of the Indian Extracellular Vesicles Society, was held between  October 5–7, 2026 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. The conference brought together researchers and clinicians to discuss advances in extracellular vesicle science and its translational applications.
