Some traditions are worth keeping. On May 30, 2026, ahead of the Kallam Anji Reddy (KAR) Campus’ 39th Anniversary, LVPEI held it’s Annual Blood Donation Drive in collaboration with the NTR Memorial Trust Blood Centre.
A total of 168 donors, including employees, their family members, trainees, outsourced staff, patients, patient attendants, and volunteers from KAR and Gullapalli Pratibha Rao International Centre for Advancement of Rural Eye Care (GPR – I CARE) campuses, extended their support to the cause.
Donated blood (which also includes platelets and plasma) can help upto 3 people, from accident victims and surgery patients to those battling cancer or blood conditions. The aim behind this annual drive was to support children with Retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer in children, and patients facing financial challenges in accessing healthcare.

For families already navigating a difficult diagnosis, financial strain can make access to treatment even challenging; and a steady supply of blood and platelets is non-negotiable. The LVPEI annual blood drive exists to help meet that need, and this year’s turnout continued to be a step in that direction.
“We are grateful to everyone who came forward this year. Every donation brings us closer to ensuring that no child’s treatment is interrupted for want of support.”
