LVPEI at iFOCUS 2026

Faculty from the L V Prasad Eye Institute contributed extensively to iFocus 2026, a national postgraduate program in ophthalmology, organized by Centre for Sight (CFS). Held from July 5-12, 2026, at AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad, the week-long academic program brought together postgraduate ophthalmology students and ophthalmology faculty from across India for lectures, discussions, competitions, and hands-on learning sessions.

LVPEI faculty members contributed as speakers, session chairpersons, moderators, and judges in the program, sharing their expertise across a wide range of scientific and academic sessions, which included:

• Dr Sirisha Senthil, who delivered lectures on ‘Gonioscopy: The Most Underused Examination in Glaucoma’ and ‘Evaluation of the Glaucomatous Optic Disc’
• Dr Vishal Raval, who presented a lecture on ‘OCT Biomarkers in the Management of Diabetic Macular Edema (DME)’ and moderated a session on ‘Newer anti-VEGF therapies in Diabetic Macular Disease’.
• Dr Tarjani Dave, who delivered a one-hour lecture on the ‘Evaluation and Management of Contracted Socket’.
• Dr Vijayakumari Gothwal, who chaired the ‘Vision, Refraction, Anatomy and Basic Refraction session and delivered a talk on From Optical Devices to Smart Technology – Advances in Low Vision Care’.
• Dr Rashmi Deshmukh, who delivered lectures on ‘Ectatic Disorders of the Cornea’, ‘Fellowships in the UK – Opportunities Unlimited’, and ‘How to Conceptualise and Write an Original Article’. She also chaired the Cornea session and served as a judge for the Grand Rounds Competition.
• Kiranmayee Chappidi, who delivered a lecture titled ‘An Overview of Contact Lenses’ for the postgraduate ophthalmology students from across the country.
• Jhansi Priyanka Poosa, who delivered a guest lecture on ‘Spectacle Prescription’ for over 300 postgraduate ophthalmology students.

LVPEI faculty, Drs Milind Naik, Sayan Basu, and Somasheila Murthy also contributed to the program through their academic participation.

LVPEI’s presence at iFocus 2026 further attested to the institute’s continued commitment to advancing ophthalmic education, fostering collaborative learning, and mentoring the next generation of eye care professionals through national academic platforms.
