A Training of Trainers (ToT) Program was conducted across the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) network as part of the Interdisciplinary Interprofessional (IDIP) initiative for the month of August. Launched by the Standard Chartered – LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education, the program was led by Ms Snigdha, Network Director, Education and Ms Shefali Pandey, Administrator, Education.
The ToT (Training of Trainers) program is a capacity-building framework that equips expert practitioners to train others within an organization using adult learning principles, instructional design, and effective facilitation techniques. As part of its commitment to the core values of Patient First and Excellence, LVPEI regularly conducts Network-wide ToT programs to enable the LVPEI staff with the skills needed to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Following the completion of the patient care module last month, the program’s focus for August was on the Optometry module.
Rooted in the UNESCO 6 Cs (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Curiosity, Creativity and Compassion) framework and the 3H (Head, Heart, Hands) philosophy, the program brought together trainers from across the LVPEI campuses – Kallam Anji Reddy (KAR) Campus, Hyderabad, Kode Venkatadri Chowdary (KVC) Campus, Vijayawada, Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC) Campus, Bhubaneswar, Rajasekhara Reddy (RSR) Campus, Kadapa, and GMR Varalakshmi (GMRV) Campus, Visakhapatnam. The program completed four sessions using campus-specific scenarios, interactive discussions, and practical exercises, participants got an in-depth understanding of effective patient-centered communication, interaction, and service excellence.
