As part of its Andhra Pradesh (AP) Residency Program, L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) conducted two preceptorship workshops across its Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam campuses.
Uvea & Retina Preceptorship Program at GMR Varalakshmi (GMRV) Campus, Visakhapatnam: 20 participants, including in-house fellows attended the ‘Uvea & Retina Preceptorship Program’ at the GMRV Campus, Visakhapatnam on June 27, 2026.
Retina Preceptorship Program at Kode Venkatadri Chowdary (KVC) Campus, Vijayawada: The program was conducted on June 28, 2026. The program brought together 30 delegates from various institutes for an intensive hands-on learning experience. Led by Dr Nidhi Vithalani and other retina fellows, delegates were given a hands-on session on the basics of indirect ophthalmoscopy (IO) examination. The program also featured:
- case-based discussions on non-proliferative and proliferative diabetic retinopathy
- Dr Sameera Nayak led discussions on interesting retinal cases, covering OCT biomarkers and personalized treatment approaches
- Dr Aditya Kapoor delivered a comprehensive lecture on the role of laser treatment in diabetic retinopathy
- Dr Ronnie Abhishek conducted a session on the technique and precautions involved in intravitreal injections.
The program concluded with an interactive quiz session conducted by Dr Nidhi, to reinforce the key concepts covered throughout the program.
