LVPEI Organises 8th Edition of POSN at KIIT Odisha

The L V Prasad Eye Institute’s (LVPEI) Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC) Campus in Bhubaneswar organized the 8th edition of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Network (POSN) at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) under the chairmanship of Dr Vivek Warkad on September 19 – 20, 2026.
Bringing together 185 ophthalmologists, fellows, clinicians, researchers, and experts in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, the program focused on knowledge sharing and fostering collaboration alongside discussions on advances in the care of childhood eye disorders.
The two-day program covered a broad range of contemporary topics, including:
- pediatric ophthalmology
- strabismus
- neuro-ophthalmology
- ocular imaging
- pediatric cataract
- myopia management
- ocular genetics
- and complex surgical conditions.
Interactive panel discussions, case-based learning sessions, and participant-led engagement also provided significant depth to the scientific deliberations while workshops, e-poster presentations, free paper sessions, surgical videos, keynote lectures, and case discussions offered participants opportunities to engage with evolving approaches in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
The program also brought together faculty from India and internationally, thereby enabling participants to learn from diverse clinical and research perspectives. International speakers included Dr Parth Shah from Australia, Dr Vivek R Patel from the USA and Dr Yi Ning Strube from Canada. National faculty included Dr Suryasnata Rath, from LVPEI’s MTC campus, along with several leading experts in the field.
Beyond the academic sessions, the program also served as a platform to connect and build professional networks. The evening cultural program, ‘POSN’s Got Talent,’ showcased the talents of attendees and was followed by a gala dinner, creating a space for faculty and delegates to interact and strengthen professional connections.
