Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visit LVPEI Exhibition Stall During Odisha Visit

Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and Hon’ble President, Droupadi Murmu, visited Odisha on June 20, 2026 for public engagement. Several community development initiatives undertaken through the SLS Trust were showcased in an exhibition held at the President’s native residence, Pahadpur village in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The visit highlighted ongoing efforts focused on rural development, education, livelihoods, and healthcare in the region.


As part of the occasion, the Hon’ble President and Prime Minister also visited L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI)’s exhibition stall, where the Institute showcased its extensive work and impact across India. The presentation highlighted LVPEI’s pyramidal model of eye care delivery, community-based eye care and elderly eye care services, innovations in vision care, the Tribal Odisha Eye Disease Study, and the institute’s continued efforts to make comprehensive eye care accessible to communities that need it most.
The visit offered a valuable opportunity to spotlight how collaborative, community-driven healthcare interventions can contribute meaningfully to inclusive development in rural and underserved regions of the country.
