Dr Vishal Raval Secures VRSI Research Grant

Dr Vishal Raval, Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Kallam Anji Reddy (KAR) Campus in Hyderabad, was awarded the Vitreo Retina Society of India (VRSI) Research Grant. His proposal, titled, ‘Aminolevulinic Acid-Based Photodynamic Therapy for the Treatment of Intraocular Tumors: A Translational Study‘, will receive a funding support from VRSI.

Through this study, Dr Vishal aims to establish Aminolevulinic Acid (ALA)-based photodynamic therapy as a validated, tissue-selective, and vision-preserving treatment strategy for intraocular tumors. Speaking about the research, he said,

We look forward to advancing a more accessible and vision-preserving treatment option for patients with intraocular tumors.

Dr Vishal will carry out this research in collaboration with researchers from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar.
