38 Residents Train in Pediatric Eye Care at LVPEI Bhubaneswar

The L V Prasad Eye Institute Mithu Tulsi Chanrai (MTC) Campus, Bhubaneswar, conducted a Pediatric Preceptorship Program on September 6, 2026. The program was designed to provide residents, fellows, and optometry interns with a comprehensive and practical learning experience from LVPEI’s Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus & Neuro-Ophthalmology, Low Vision Rehabilitation Services, and Orthoptics departments.
Moderated by Dr Debasmita Majhi, it brought together faculty and team members from the respective departments for a series of clinically relevant and interactive academic sessions. The program saw the participation of 38 residents, including senior residents, from four medical colleges across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack alongside in-house pediatric fellows and optometry interns.
The academic sessions were tailored to address the learning needs of the participants, with a focus on practical clinical application. Interactive discussions encouraged active engagement between the participants and faculty, creating a dynamic learning environment. The hands-on training sessions were a particular highlight, offering participants opportunities to gain practical experience and interact closely with faculty.
The program served as a valuable platform for academic exchange, practical learning, and professional interaction among pediatric ophthalmology faculty, fellows, interns, and residents from multiple institutions.
