Low Vision Services
Low Vision Services begin with an individualised assessment of functional vision and the difficulties a person experiences in everyday activities. Based on the assessment, appropriate low vision devices, training and practical strategies are deployed to help individuals make effective use of their available vision in everyday life.
Based on the assessment, suitable low vision devices are recommended that range from optical, non-optical, electronic and assistive technology solutions, and training to use them effectively.
Appropriate adaptations and environmental modifications, including contrast enhancement, lighting and glare-control measures, based on the person’s needs are recommended. The goal is to help each individual make the best possible use of their functional vision for education, employment, daily living, recreation and greater independence.
