Early Intervention
Early intervention is particularly important for children with visual impairment and developmental disabilities, as early support can help build foundational skills and reduce the impact of developmental delays.
The early intervention program provides individualized, family-centred interventions, including functional vision assessment, parent training, special education, physiotherapy, speech and communication support and sensory-motor activities. The goal is to help every child develop to their fullest potential, build functional skills and participate more independently in everyday life.
The early intervention program takes an interdisciplinary and family-centred approach, based on the assessment of the child’s visual, developmental, motor, communication and functional needs. An individualised intervention plan is developed that includes functional vision activities, special education, physiotherapy, speech and communication support, sensory-motor activities and training in daily living skills. We also guide parents on selecting appropriate learning and play materials, safety, positioning and environmental adaptations, and provide strategies that can be continued at home.
The programme is designed to strengthen the child’s functional abilities, support participation and build greater independence, while equipping families to become active partners in their child’s development.
