Counselling & Guidance

We provide personalised counselling and guidance to help individuals and families understand vision loss, build confidence and make informed decisions based on their strengths, needs, and aspirations.

Vision loss affects education, employment, independence and participation is everyday community living.   Based on each person’s functional vision, abilities, interests and aspirations, we provide guidance on adaptive strategies, vision-based environmental modifications, education and career choices. We also help individuals identify suitable rehabilitation services, assistive solutions and opportunities that support greater independence and participation.

Based on the trainee’s functional vision, abilities, interests and goals, we provide practical training in two or more suitable trades –  tailoring, making of paper bags, candles, home décor, jewellery, jute and cloth products or other livelihood activities.

Family members are encouraged to learn alongside the trainee, to create a supportive and sustainable livelihood. Follow-up guidance and support is also provided to help establish the chosen trade and strengthen income-generating opportunities.

Limited accommodation is available during the training period, subject to availability.
